A Clear Brushing Lacquer – Do not spray of thin.
- Product Description: BioShield Resin Floor Finish is clear brushing lacquer for floors and furniture. Use after priming surfaces with either Primer Oil #1, Penetrating Oil Sealer #5 or Hard Oil #9. Resin Floor Finish creates a durable, flexible seal on many types of flooring. Apply by brush only, do not spray, do not thin.
- Specifications: BioShield Resin Floor Finish is suitable for use on absorbent floor surfaces including hardwood, softwood, adobe, stone, terra cotta, brick, and cork. The resulting finish is breathable and elastic and will create depth and dimension in flooring substrates of all types.
- Application: Stir well before use. Apply two to three coats of this product by brush.
Surfaces must be absorbent, and free of dust, grease, wax, oil, nicotine and other contaminants. Wood, stone, and slate should be primed with one to two coats of BioShield Oil Primer #1. Highly absorbent wood floors, adobe, terra cotta tile, and cork should be primed with one to two coats of #5 Penetrating Oil Sealer.
As a general guide, you can plan on two coats of this product for new floors and one for recoat situations. Highly absorbent surfaces such as adobe or cork will perform best with three coats.
The maximum moisture content for softwoods should not exceed 18 percent and for hardwoods should not exceed 12 percent moisture. Before applying Primer Oil #1 very resinous woods such as teak must be cleaned with BioShield Citrus Thinner, and other exotic woods should be wiped with an alcohol thinner (ethanol).
Best results are obtained by applying this product with a professional quality natural bristle brush. Light sanding between coats will improve the surface and remove small irregularities and particles. Recoat after 12-24 hours.
Most woods should be sanded with #120 sandpaper. Finer sanding and smoothly planed surfaces will inhibit oil penetration. When sanding, move in the direction of the grain to prevent scratches.
